Backyard Barbecue Showdown

Setup begins at 7 a.m. and contestants may begin cooking at 8:30 a.m. Awards presentations will be at 6 p.m. Following receipt of your application, you will be contacted for registration payment and assigned your cook space.

Liability Waiver, Terms & Conditions

By submitting this application, I acknowledge that participation in the 1st Annual Backyard BBQ Showdown at the Smoke & Sound Festival is voluntary and at my own risk. I agree to assume full responsibility for myself, my team members, equipment, vehicles, and personal property while participating in this event.

I hereby release and hold harmless Monett Main Street, the Smoke & Sound Festival, the City of Monett, event sponsors, volunteers, property owners, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any and all liability, claims, demands, damages, losses, injuries, or expenses arising from or related to my participation in this event, including damage to property, personal injury, illness, or death, except where caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct.

I understand that I am responsible for complying with all applicable federal, state, and local health, fire, and safety regulations, as well as all contest rules and instructions provided by event organizers. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in disqualification and/or removal from the event without refund.

Submission of this application does not guarantee acceptance into the competition. Applications will be reviewed by event organizers, and selected teams will be notified of their acceptance. Upon acceptance, additional event information, contest rules, check-in instructions, and logistical details will be provided. Payment of the entry fee will be due only after acceptance into the competition and must be received by the deadline provided in the acceptance notification to secure participation.
